Writing Number 2

Dear Gabriel,

We were in Ipoh house on 3-Aug-08. Yiyi bought a book for you to learn writing numbers. You could write number 1 with no problems. However, Mummy and Papa were very surprised that you could write the number 2. We are so proud of you!

Buffet Porridge at Copthorne Hotel

Dear Gabriel,

On Uncle Bart and Auntie Angie’s invitation, we went for Buffet Porridge at Copthorne Hotel, Tanjung Tokong, on 26-Jul-08. Grandma and Grandpa was there too. You liked the porridge and jelly dessert. You didn’t sit at the table long, though. Mummy and Papa had to take turns chasing you in the restaurant. After the lunch, we went for a walk around the hotel. Uncle Bart brought Julian to the kids play area. There was a ball pit there. You and Julian had a fun time ’swimming’ in the pit!

Fun with Pronunctiation

Hi Gabriel,

Recently your style of conversation is you will end your sentence with high pitch tune of ” Hor…”

” Mummy, you eat hor….”

” Mummy, the batman save the little boy hor…”

” Mummy, my friend hor…”

In addtion, you also like to purposely said a word in a wrong pronunciation. Like ” Cheah Yor Neck” ” brocalli” “dunner time” You are so naughty! : ) But when mummy purposely called your name “Gabruel Cheah Yu Chen” You will dissatisfied and corrected me” NO!!! Is Gabriel Cheah Yi Chern” Haha!

Recently, you had made some correction of the mistake you made on pronunciation. You previously said” Lellow” and now you will say” IS YEEEE…..llow and not lellow, mummy!” “Is not boolloon, is BER….lloon! “

However you still can’t make the correction of papa’s car ” Livina” You will said wrongly as” Vi…lina” After mummy corrected you many many times, you still can’t said “Li”first. When mummy taught you to practice to say ” Vina” for few times. And when mummy asked you to repeat “Livina” You will just scared to make mistake again and only said”Vina” Hooh……! Mummy give up! : )

Taiping Zoo Outing

Hi Gabriel,

Last weekend we went to Taiping zoo. This was the third time you went to Taiping Zoo. The first time was during you were 1 year and 1 month old. The 2nd time was during you were about 1year and 8 months old. And now you were 2 years and 8 months old.

Early Sunday morning, mummy woke you up to drink milk. After the milk, you immediately covered your face with the bolster and wanted to sleep some more. Then mummy said, “Gabriel, do you know where will we go today? It’s Taiping.” You immediately woke up and said, “Got the giraffe one, tiger, lion, monkey and etc.” Mummy was surprised you can link and still remembered Zoo is in Taiping : )

It was a sunny day. After half of the journey in zoo, we took the train to go round. You had fun in the zoo. You saw lots of animals from wild animals, birds, reptiles, mammals and etc. You also tasted the candy floss for the first time!

Then we had lunch at the Piano Cafe, famous for the smoothies and fruit juice. We had 2 cups of yogurt smoothies! After you drank the yogurt, you will “Aah!” to show you really enjoyed it.

After lunch we went to play the “Giant slide” in Taiping. That was the biggest slide mummy has seen. We enjoyed playing together. After we slide down, you will look at mummy to see whether I got scream or not : )

Weeeee!

Gabriel, without you, mummy will not be so happy in life!!

Making Fun of Teacher’s Name

Dear Gabriel,

Papa had a good laugh one night when we were talking about your teachers at Melody Kindyland Bukit Jambul. When we mentioned Teacher Tang’s name, you would repeat Teacher ‘Tongue’ and stick out your tongue! Thanks for making Papa laugh. Papa hope you will not do it in front of your teacher!

A Toy Gun from YiYi

Gabriel boy,

You really a “big boy” already!
When you were shopping with yiyi at Parkson Grand, yiyi wanted to buy you a toy gun.But yiyi thinking of whether your papa like it or not because gun is a “fighting” weapon. Yiyi just simply told you that papa would scold if yiyi bought for you..
After half and hour, yiyi saw you still non-stop playing the “gun”, yiyi decided to buy for you.
Yiyi asked :”You want to buy the gun?”.Surprisingly you answered :”Papa will scold!”…Really get shock and feel great that you can remember what yiyi told you..(Aiyah!Felt guilty to blame your papa.Sorry, Yuniq!)
After get your mummy’s permission, finally yiyi bought the “gun” for you. Hope you like it ; )

From Baby to Toddler

Hi Gabriel,

 

One of the weekend we went back to Ipoh. Ah Po was surprised of your development. Early morning, when Ah Po took the joss-stick to pray, you warned Ah Po. “Don’t play fire, will burn your hand one…” You also told Gung Gung not to touch the mosquito repellant, it is poison and function is to kill the ants…: )

 

Gabriel you are a lucky boy, same to mummy… When you were born, mummy and papa can’t find a SUITABLE baby sitter to take care of you, so Ah Po and Grandma came up to Penang from Ipoh in alternate month to take care of you. They sacrificed a lot as they left Gung 2 and Grandpa alone..

 

In the first 3 months, you didn’t know how to differentiate day and night, you cried a lot at night. You started to cry at 12a.m. on and off till 3a.m. for about 3 months. Ah Po, gung 2 and I were really stressed and we had many sleepless nights to pacify you. We tried many methods, on and off the light, fed you milk, rocking with songs and even went to ask “sin se”. The “sin se” asked to rub your body with corn flour and Chinese tea! Surprisingly that night you really didn’t cry. However the next day, the crying cycle began again : ( Then we have tried out the bouncer and pacifier too…so you were taking the pacifier till about 2 years old. After you went to day care, you have totally weaned from the pacifier.

 

When you were baby, grandma every morning would sing the “Little Boy Blue” and whenever you passed motion, all of us would be running around to get the tissue and etc..Grandma said we were your servant . When you were 2 years old, we have sent you to day care. Reason was Ah Po had fractured her hand and couldn’t take care of you since then. And we didn’t want to separate grandma and grandpa for long period of time. Therefore we have made the decision to let you go to day care. It was a suffering for us to see you crying everyday when sent you off. However, you have finally overcome it.

 

And now you are a toddler already and you don’t like me to call you baby. You will clarify “I am not baby!” : ) Sometimes we learn from you in certain things too. We are proud of you!
