Love Letters to Gabriel

Hair cut

July 25, 2009 · 2 Comments

Dearest Gabriel,

Do you know since you were a baby, you were really afraid to have a haircut? You would struggle and cry very loudly, everyone in the barber shop would look at you. We seldom bring you to the barber shop because mummy really couldn’t stand seeing you cry. Whenever you need to cut hair, my first question to the barber was, “Can you cut fast?” I expect them to finish the task within 5-10 minutes. The barber will be stress too when I “throw” this question to them. Some even rejected the business and admited they were slow. There was one barber kept dropping the shaver because she panic. Mummy and papa were standing there giving her pressure :)

There was once, you stayed in Ipoh Po Po house, Ah Po took the initiative to cut your hair. Her idea was to cut when you were asleep. However halfway through the cut, you woke up! So you hair was half cut and half not cut. When Ah Po brought you for a walk, neighbours would ask is it a new hair style. Hahaha!
We also got an idea, that was to let you have a lollipop while cutting the hair. It worked! However, lots of hair would stick to the lollipop. We couldn’t find water to wash it and we don’t want you to cry, so papa would help to lick the lollipop clean… Pity papa!

And the hair cut crying had stopped when you reached 2 years old. We felt so relieved when you have overcome the fear!

You had a new hair cut yesterday. This was your look!

Genting vs KL Trip 2009

July 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Dear Gabriel,
We went to Genting Highlands in July 2009. This was your first trip to Genting. We went with Yeong2, New Zealand yiyi, Gung2, Po2, suk gung, suk po, yiyi and yi chong. You enjoyed yourself a lot in Genting First World Indoor Theme Park and the hotel stay. We had bought a family package (NZ yiyi, Yeong 2, you and me) playing unlimited games in the indoor theme park. You had told mummy few times,” Mummy, I like here so much” and when we were leaving Genting, you were so sad because you like to stay in hotel so much and wanted to go back : )

After the Genting trip, we stayed at Kiu Kiu’s apartment for 2 days. We went to National Science Centre, Damansara. You liked the place very much too as there were many things to explore. We had a fun time there.

On the last day when we wanted to come back to Penang, you held Yeong 2 hand, don’t want to let go and wanted him to follow papa car. Then on the way back, you kept saying you were very sad. Ya…mummy know you were sad as holiday has ended. However we will try our best to bring you there again when we have time or holiday.

学华语

June 3, 2009 · 2 Comments

Air Itam Dam adventures

May 16, 2009 · 3 Comments

Dearest Gabriel,

This was your 2nd visit to the Penang Air Itam Dam. It was a nice place to hang around as we could exercise with fresh air, beautiful sights, colourful flowers and seeing eagles fly high in the sky.

For the first time, mummy really worried you couldn’t finish the track and wanted mummy to carry you. Mummy would be too tired to carry you after a long walk..However, you did it. You enjoyed the walk, the nature, the insects and playing with the sticks and writing on the sand.

During the 2nd trip, you even sang  mummy and daddy a song.

Mummy Daddy, I love you.

I am happy to have you.

I will do my best for you.

So I sing for you!

Gabriel, you are so lovely!

Those were the days…Gabriel learnt walking

April 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Dearest Gabriel,

Since you were born, you have become the most important person in my life. You made my life become more meaningful and watching you grow up was really wonderful experience. Mummy likes the below photo very much!

Your very first steps

Your very first steps

It made me recalled the time you learnt walking…You started walking at the age of 13 months. That time grandma and “popo” took care of you. Everyday after work, mummy would sure bring you for a walk in the park, besides the lake at our apartment. Mummy would tell you the surrounding things such as trees, the blue clouds, the children, the birds & etc…That time mummy had such free time because grandma and “popo” would do the cooking and after you went to day care, mummy had no more time & strength to bring you to the park anymore. You were good boy too as after school, you would help mummy to wash rice or wash vege or you would play by yourself.
